Powdered milk is an alternative to regular milk. It is made by evaporating milk to dryness. Consuming powdered milk regularly can lead to harmful health effects such as weight gain, high blood pressure and heart problems. Powdered milk is safe if consumed in small measures. But regular use may be harmful. The nutrient content in milk fresh and powdered milk is more or less the same, but varies in quantity.
Powdered milk differs in taste as compared to regular milk. It can be distasteful to someone who is not used to the difference. Also, powdered milk has a monopoly in taste. There is no lactose-free option available with powdered milk; however lactose intolerant people can opt for lactose free cow milk. Another disadvantage of powdered milk is that it is not completely soluble. Lumps are formed in powder milk while mixing it up.
Power milk is expensive as compared to regular milk. Liquid milk is pasteurised before it is packed and delivered to the end consumers. It consists of various vitamins and minerals that are easy to digest. Powdered milk being rich in cholesterol develops blockage in the main arteries of the heart that cause stress on it and lead to heart problems. Also, it increases the overall weight of the then body causing obesity and increases the risk of developing high blood pressure. Powdered milk is also a reason for gas problems. Having said so, be wise and say NO to powdered milk and switch to regular Cow milk.
